1. General Questions About the HarzCard
What is the HarzCard?
The HarzCard is an all-inclusive card that grants you free admission to numerous attractions throughout the Harz Mountains and the Vorharz region.
Who benefits from the HarzCard?
The HarzCard is ideal for tourists and locals who want to explore the Harz region. It’s especially worthwhile if you plan to visit multiple attractions.
What types of HarzCard are available?
There are two versions: the 48-hour card and the 4-day card. The 48-hour card is valid for 48 consecutive hours starting from the first use, and the 4-day card can be used on four different days within the same calendar year starting from the first use.
How do the different card versions differ?
The cards differ in terms of validity/duration. The only benefit that differs is the one-way trip to the Brocken on the Harz Narrow-Gauge Railway. The one-way trip to the Brocken and the discount for the return trip are only included in the 4-day card.
2. Ordering & Payment
How can I order the HarzCard online?
You can easily order the HarzCard through our online store. Select the card you want, add it to your cart, and complete the purchase. Alternatively, the HarzCard can also be purchased at numerous tourist information offices and select hotels.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept common payment methods in our online shop, such as credit card, PayPal, and bank transfer.
Can I buy the HarzCard as a gift?
Yes, the HarzCard makes a perfect gift. You can have it delivered directly to the address of your choice. As long as it has not been activated, the card can easily be carried over to the following calendar year.
3. Shipping & Delivery
How is the HarzCard delivered?
The HarzCard is mailed to the address provided. Alternatively, you can choose a digital version. You will receive the Digi.HarzCard conveniently via email.
How long does shipping take?
Shipping usually takes 2–5 business days. Digital cards are sent via email immediately after payment is received.
4. Using the HarzCard
How do I activate my HarzCard?
The HarzCard is activated upon first use. From then on, the selected validity period (48 hours or 4 days) applies.
Do I need to print out the HarzCard?
The Digi.HarzCard can be conveniently displayed on your smartphone or printed out using the Print@Home option. Alternatively, you can use the physical/analog card.
How often can I visit an attraction?
Each attraction can be visited once for free with the HarzCard. There are a few select venues that allow multiple visits. Please refer to the travel guide for this information.
5. Returns & Exchanges
Can I return the HarzCard?
You have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days. For more information, please refer to the Cancellation Policy section.
What happens if I lose my HarzCard?
Unfortunately, a lost HarzCard cannot be replaced. Please keep it in a safe place.
